Connect Telegram

Set up Telegram to chat with your FinON agent on the go.

Overview

Telegram lets you message your FinON agent from your phone — ask questions, receive alerts, and get briefings wherever you are. You'll create your own Telegram bot and connect it to FinON in under 5 minutes.

Prerequisites

  • A FinON account with an active agent
  • The Telegram app installed on your phone or desktop

Step 1: Create your bot on Telegram

  1. 1.Open Telegram
  2. 2.Search for BotFather and open the bot
  3. 3.Type /newbot and follow the prompts to give your bot a name — the name must end with _bot (e.g., YourNameFinON_bot)

BotFather will create the bot and give you a message like this:

Done! Congratulations on your new bot.
You will find it at t.me/YourNameFinON_bot.

Use this token to access the HTTP API:
<your token will appear here>

Copy the token — you'll need it in the next step.

Step 2: Connect the bot to FinON

  1. 1.Open the FinON app and go to Channels
  2. 2.Select Telegram
  3. 3.Paste the token from BotFather into the Bot Token field
  4. 4.Click Save & Test

FinON will verify the token and connect your bot. Once you see the success confirmation, your bot is live.

Step 3: Start chatting

Find your bot on Telegram — search for the name you created, or go back to BotFather where your bot URL is still available. Open the chat and start messaging:

  • Analyze TSLA earnings
  • Build a DCF model for Apple
  • Send me a morning briefing every day at 8am
  • What's happening with NVDA today?

Your agent responds directly in the Telegram chat. Everything you can do on the web works here — analysis, research, models, scheduling, and skills.

What you can do

  • Ask questions — financial analysis, research, models
  • Set alerts — price movements, news, filings
  • Receive briefings — scheduled reports delivered to your chat
  • Create schedules — set up recurring tasks that deliver results here
  • Run skills — any agent skill works through Telegram

Scheduled delivery

When you set up a cron job (e.g., "Send me a morning briefing at 7am") while chatting on Telegram, the results are delivered right here — in your Telegram chat. No need to open the web dashboard.

Troubleshooting

Bot not responding?

  1. 1.Check that your agent is running — go to Dashboard and verify the status shows Running
  2. 2.If it shows Stopped, click Restart
  3. 3.Wait 30 seconds and try messaging again

Forgot your bot token?

The token is always available in BotFather. Open BotFather on Telegram, type /token, then select your bot name — it will show you the token again.

Too many bots? Can't find yours?

Go to BotFather and type /mybots — all the bots you've created will show up. Select the one you need.
